I have never been the one to own expensive brushes, from going through my brushes I honestly think I need to invest in a few good ones to replace the bulk of my cheaper/lesser quality ones!
Today was that day of the week, brush cleaning day! :) I used to rarely clean my brushes, but now I would never skip a week. I use the Sephora brush wipes, they seem to do the trick.
"artsy" shot ;)
Face Brushes (left to right):
- bareMinerals Blush Brush: ★★★1/2☆
- Nice for easy application, but bristles are not as soft as I would want.
- Random Foundation Brush: ★☆☆☆☆
- I lost my Elf Foundation Brush. I don't recommend this. I only use it on occasion, especially now that I use a finger-friendly foundation.
- Elf Bronzing Brush: ★★★1/2☆
- Perfect Application, just not very soft, and sometimes sheds.
- Random Total Face Powder Brush: ★☆☆☆☆
- Again don't know why I keep this.
- Avon Face Brush: ★☆☆☆☆
- I usually have this in my travel bag, I wouldn't be upset if I lost it. Not very nice on the face.
- Elf Studio Powder Brush: ★★★★1/2
- I love this brush. So soft, So fluffy, Everything I could want in a powder brush.
- Elf Studio Stipple Brush: ★★★★★
- When I used my Maybelline Fit Foundation this was my best friend. Now I use it for powder blushes and it is to die for.
Eye/Lip Brushes (left to right):
- HIP Eyeshadow Travel Brush: ★★★★★
- Is it completely sad that I got this brush with a HIP(drugstore) pigment years ago and I am still so in love with it? I always used it with my MAC pigments and nothing works quite like it.
- Forever21 Eyeliner Brush: ★★★★★
- I use the for my eyebrows... I honestly couldn't imagine switching to a different brush, it works so well. I am scared that I will loose it though, because I haven't seen the set in stores anymore :(
- Random Eyeshadow Brush: ☆☆☆☆☆
- This has been sitting in my makeup jar for too long, throwing it away as I type.
- Physicians Formula Travel Eyeliner Brush: ★★★☆☆
- Good application. Great for traveling.
- bareMinerals Eyeshadow Brush: ★★★★☆
- Nice for traveling. With a nice even application.
- Elf Defining Eye Brush: ★★★☆☆
- Quite thin, not as fluffy or thick as I would like it to be, but it is nice for natural days.
- Random Eyeshadow Brush: ★★★1/2☆
- I like this for when I do makeup in colors that I want to pop, it is thick so it packs on the color!
- Sephora Lip Brush: ★★★★1/2
- I rarely use this, but when I do it works like a dream!
- Elf Eye Shadow Brush: ★★★1/2☆
- I like this for putting color on my lid. It is really nice, especially for the price!
- Sephora Sponge Tip Shadow: ★★★☆☆
- I rarely use this. I think I bought it on a whim, and I wasn't overly thrilled with it.
- Random Eye Brush: ★★★★☆
- I bought this for $1 at Christmas Tree shops when I thought I had lost my F21 Eyeliner Brush, since I found it under my metal perfume plate, I have used this for shadow and for liner! Pretty good!
- Smashbox Precision Liner Brush: ★★★1/2☆
- Got this for free, so I cannot complain much. Nice for gel liners, but not the most smooth application I am noticing.
- My Glam Crease Brush: ★★★★1/2
- I actually was not too excited for this, but I soon fell in love with it. The bristles are soft and it blends my crease like a dream.
- Smashbox Blending Brush: ★★★★★
- Again I got this for free so I cannot complain, IF there was anything to complain about. The bristles are divine, the shape and density is perfect. It was love at first glance. I use this for everything when I am in a hurry, or for base shadows when I am taking my time.
This is one weeks worth of makeup from my brushes -_-
And this is my storage! :)
My next post will most likely be a brush wish list so stay tuned for that!
Any suggestions?! What are your favorite brushes??!
I'm hoping to build up my brush collection to be as big as this! I'm researching bloggers favourite brushes so I can get the perfect set, haha. I just recently brought the Sigma F80 Kabuki - haven't used it yet but it looks and feels amazing! x

ReplyDeleteYeah! I was actually looking into their eye shadow brush set!
DeleteI have never heard of Sedona Lace! I'll have to look em up!
I love the elf flat top brush too. Works great with elfs mineral foundation xx
ReplyDeleteI have never tried any elf foundations! I have the worste luck with mineral/powder foundations, always turns me orange!!
DeleteYou have lots of lovely brushes! I really want to try out the Sephora wipes but we don't have a sephora in England :( Instead I used washing up liquid and olive oil to clean mine, sounds weird but works a treat and it is free!! :)
