Tarte Collection
Today's post is a little different than normal. I decided I wanted to write a whole post dedicated to my favorite makeup brand, Tarte. From blushes, to shadows, to lips I have never encountered a Tarte product that has disappointed me, and that is a feat no other brand has been able to achieve from me. In this post you are going to see an in depth look at my little Tarte collection, my one love.

My Tarte Blushes
My absolute favorite part of Tarte's entire line has to be their blushes. Not only are they the most wearable, they also offer the perfect pigmentation, texture, and wear.
I guess first we should address the packaging, it is sleek and pretty. The fact that the Amazonian Clay Blushes packaging is the same, or similar, to the color of the product makes it really easy to grab the correct color without having to read the back of the package or open each product.
Next for the actual product... It is honestly one of those things you really need to try for yourself. For the most part the blushes are soft without being powdery, which is really important to me. And because they are so soft they blend like a dream creating a natural, but noticeable different to my cheeks.
Lastly I want to talk a little bit about the cheek tint, Achiote, that I received in my most recent Glossybox. I have used a few cheek tints/stains in my time, and this is by far my favorite formula. With a light application it looks super natural and almost undetectable that it is makeup that is making you look so radiant. But with a wee bit heavier application you can get a really nice color going. One thing that I feel differs about this formula: When building it up it does not appear splotchy and cake-y like some other tints/stains do.
My Tarte Blushes (left to right): Achiote (tint), Fantastic, Magic, Dollface, Splendor, Stellar, Angelic.

Most Wearable: Dollface.

Least Wearable: Splendor.

Next for some eyeshadows. When my YouTube friend Kalyn (TheKalynTheory) gifted me this palette for Christmas I was super excited to try out Tarte's eyeshadow formula. After playing with the palette, and even doing a tutorial with it, I fell so in love.
Let's start again with the packaging. Super cute, I love the purple they used with these few palettes. I also really enjoyed the look card and the mirror that are a great add on. And I'm going to be honest when I say I have yet to really get into the brush and the eyeliner yet, but I have high hopes. The only downfall in the packaging... The eyeshadows are not secured in, Tarte created it this way so when you run out of shadow, it can be easily replaced by purchasing a new pan... which is great. BUT when I showed the palette in my What I Got For Christmas video I tilted the palettes just at the perfect angle where all the shadows just fell out, magnets and all. It was easy to put them all back in but I was kind of disappointing that my new palette has knicks throughout the shadows from falling.
As for the shadows: They are gorgeous, super pigmented and obviously of quality. This palette offers a fair amount of neutrals without going "Naked" on us. I really enjoy that this palette really would suit any skin tone, and has colors that would make any eye color pop. I have and will continue recommending this as a palette that is great for beginners and experts alike.

Other Tarte Bits
Over time I have collected a few other products from Tarte that have made their way into my daily routine. These products I have gotten through sample boxes, subscription boxes, and blog sale purchases.
Clean Slate Poreless Primer has been the only primer I have used so far this year. It has that silicone feel to it without being really oily. I got it in a little three pack of samples, the rest I have used up, this one in particular I do plan on repurchasing.
Another favorite of mine is the Tarte LipSurgence. I received this in a Birchbox and I had no idea what it was. I love the color, scent, and the lasting power on this tint. I have actually recommended a few of my friends to this product, let's say they are now addicted!
Next is cheek stain in "flush". Unfortunately this is not my favorite product. It tends to stick oddly to any little hairs no matter how small or thin they are. Fortunately, as stated above, I have found a good alternative tint that I love. I do use this on my lips though, so it is not a total waste for me.
And last, but for sure not least, are my little mini emphasEYES. These I got in a blog sale and I am not sure of the age or if the formula is still current. Let me tell you though, these are beautiful. A problem I have with cream shadows now a days is the color payoff is light, and the purpose of them are then targeted for a base. Not these bad boys. They are rich in pigmentation but still blend like a dream. By far one of my top favorites when it comes to cream eyeshadows.

I hope you all enjoyed my Tarte collection overview. I'm not sure what to try next, but right now I am lusting over the Journey to Natural Beauty 6-pc Collection with Bag, which includes a lipstick, foundation, mascara, brow shaper, blush, foundation brush, and the most adorable makeup bag ever. And as always I would love to know if there are any Tarte products that you recommend I try. :)

One Love: Tarte

  13. I'm a huge Tarte fan too - one of my favorite products you didn't mention was the Smooth Operator Micronized Clay Finishing Powder. I love it more than any other finishing powder I've ever tried - I highly recommend it! I just got my Journey to Natural kit in the mail... so, so in love. The Amazonian Clay Full Coverage foundation is heavenly. xxx
